WHY DO ENGINEERS NEED PLC TRAINING?

WHY DO ENGINEERS NEED PLC TRAINING?

A question for all you engineers : what do Pepsi , Reynolds pens and Hero Honda bikes have in common? Give up? They all use automation in some way during the manufacturing process. Automation is everywhere and it has taken a pivotal role in today’s industrial age causing many companies to be dependent on PLCs and PLC-trained personnel. So if you are new to PLCs, never heard of them, or know them well, it is time to get training and I’ll tell you why:

Career Opportunities :

For those who may not know about automation or PLCs, allow me to explain. Automation is defined by Google as: the use of largely automatic equipment in a system of manufacturing or other production process. That is true, but for a more awesome explanation, let’s talk Dosas! The video below shows how dosas can be made in an automated machine. Go ahead and check it out.

What isn’t shown in this video is the brains behind the operation or what controls the timing, temperature, level, speed, etc. of these processes. That is of course the PLC or Programmable Logic Controller. Getting the training you need, to develop, install and support PLC systems like these can open up a wealth of career opportunities for you. Who wouldn’t want that?!

Engineering is the science of solving problems. Electrical Engineering is solving those problems electrically. Automation was born to solve problems faced by production facilities but it can also be used to solve problems at home. Learning the basics of PLC technology can give you the knowledge to automate tasks performed around the house. For example, a PLC system can be used to prevent the overflow of water from the overhead tank.

How is ProGyaan different from other PLC Training centres?

PROGYAAN - WHERE REAL LEARNING HAPPENS

Curriculum

The curriculum in all our courses has been designed by Senior Project Engineers who, by virtue of working on large projects with reputed companies, know what is expected out of Automation Engineers. We have also taken the help of Senior German Automation Experts with extensive International exposure to enhance our course content.

Teaching Methodology

We lay strong emphasis on the Teaching methodology that we adopt, so that every engineer who joins us, leaves with strong technical knowledge. We begin with going “Back to the Basics” and make sure that every student is made conversant with Electrical Fundamentals. What differentiates us from other institutes is, this approach to learning, where each and every student gets to work on real controllers to get a feel of the actual Project environment.

Effective Learning

We take our work very seriously and do not compromise on the quality of education we provide. Hence we closely monitor every student’s attendance and give them periodic tests to assess their performance. We make it mandatory for every student to complete all exercises given to them and to show the working of their programs on the Controllers in the lab.

Why PLC Training ?

Why PLC Training ?

PLC Training in Chennai is not a new concept. But, we found a need to start this institute, because, as employers, we found a severe lacking in the Engineers we recruited and we had to spend 6 months to train them before we could send them for projects.
Automation, we realized is a fast growing field and there is going to be a huge demand for Automation engineers in India & abroad. With special impetus being given to manufacturing, in order to meet global standards of productivity, efficiency and quality, industries have to use Automation. Every Machine Manufacturer, System Integrator and End User has a need for Automation engineers and this need is only going to increase.

In spite of this need, the Industry is unwilling to pay these starting Engineers highly because they know that the skill levels are quite low and they have to invest time, resources and money in training them. That is where we want to make a difference. Since we are also part of this Industrywe know what is expected out of Engineers and hence we have designed our curriculum, class rooms and lab in such a way that we can prepare them to be deployable on projects as soon as they are recruited.

There are many types of controllers in the world and it is impossible for an Engineer to learn all of them. Technology keeps evolving and changing. We prepare them to learn on their own. We teach them the nuances of Solution building so that even when faced with a new set of devicesthey are confident enough to work on them.

PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI’S MESSAGE TO THE WORLD :

From Automobiles to Agro-products. From Hardware to Software. From Satellites to Submarines. From Televisions to Telecom. From Pharma to Biotech. From Paper to Power Plants. From Roads to Bridges. From Houses to Smart Cities. From Friendship to Partnership. From Profit to Progress. Whatever you want to make: Make in India.

The Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi, has launched the ‘Make in India’ initiative to place India on the world map as a manufacturing hub and give global recognition to the Indian economy. As a result of this, India’s manufacturing sector could touch US$ 1 trillion by 2025. Several mobile phone, luxury and automobile brands, among others, have set up or are looking to establish their manufacturing bases in the country. The focus of the Make in India programme is on 25 sectors.

Thanks to this initiative and the increase in foreign direct investment, the year 2016 is anticipated to create about 3.5 million job opportunities. A survey conducted by the Indian arm of US-based staffing firm, ManpowerGroup, said, employers predict an increase of almost 42% in the hiring numbers. “Industries like manufacturing and automation will now witness a major boost,” said AG Rao, group MD, ManpowerGroup India, at the “Make in India” week celebration inFebruary 2016. Growth, Productivity, Efficiency, Return on Investment are all terms associated with Automation. To achieve the goals that we, as a country, have set for ourselves, Automation is a necessity. Opportunities are tremendous and growth potential is enormous. What is needed is Knowledge & Skill, which is where we come in.
